What We Believe

At St. Peter Christian School, education is more than academics. It's a calling. We exist to nurture the whole child — mind, heart, and spirit. Rooted in the Christian faith and grounded in academic excellence, we partner with families to raise children who think critically, serve joyfully, and grow in their relationship with God.

Our Mission

Developing Scholars, Servants, and Saints to the Glory of God

This isn't a tagline. It's our promise to every family who walks through our doors. It means your child will be challenged academically, encouraged to lead through service, and supported in building a lasting foundation of faith. From our preschool classrooms to our growing K–5 elementary program, this mission shapes every lesson, every interaction, and every day.

Our Core Values

Scholars, Servants & Saints

The Scholars, Servants, and Saints framework defines not just what we teach, but how and why. Each value reflects a commitment we make to your child and your family.

Scholars

We provide programs grounded in excellence to develop the academic, artistic, and athletic talents of every learner. Strong minds are built through curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning that extends far beyond the classroom.

  • A passion for learning extends beyond the classroom.
  • Life-long learners find solutions to present and future challenges.
  • Knowledge is built through critical and creative thinking.
  • Students need academic and physical fitness for healthy living.

Servants

Service is at the heart of following Christ, and it's at the heart of what we teach. We provide opportunities for children to serve others in Christ's name, both within our school community and beyond.

  • Service enriches the spiritual life of those who serve and of those being served.
  • Serving alongside others deepens relationships and fosters unity.
  • Serving others is the heart of leadership and builds strong character.

Saints

We foster a Christ-centered culture that shapes spiritual formation in the lives of our students. Faith isn't a subject to be checked off; it's woven into the rhythm of each school day.

  • In Christ alone there is salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, based on Scripture alone.
  • There is one holy Christian church made up of all believers in Jesus Christ.
  • All Christians are members of the royal priesthood of all believers.
  • Scripture stands as the final standard of the Gospel.

Our Philosophy

A Partnership with Parents

"

"Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

— Proverbs 22:6

God addresses this call to parents, not to schools. At St. Peter, we see ourselves as partners in that calling, walking alongside families to provide a Christ-centered education that nurtures children spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically.

Our approach is built on the proper teaching of both Law and Gospel. The Law of God, founded in the Ten Commandments, provides the moral framework for structured community living and growth. The Gospel — the good news of forgiveness and reconciliation through Jesus Christ — empowers us to live in grace and extend that grace to one another.

Alongside this spiritual foundation, we deliver rigorous instruction in core academics: reading, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Our curriculum is TEKS-aligned and taught through hands-on, developmentally appropriate methods. Faith isn’t a separate class on the schedule — it’s integrated into every subject and every interaction throughout the day.

Our Identity

A Ministry of St. Peter Church

St. Peter Christian School is a ministry of St. Peter Church, a congregation of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS). We are part of the second-largest Protestant school system in the United States — a network of more than 2,000 schools with a long legacy of educational excellence.

Every student participates in daily religion lessons and regular chapel worship. Our spiritual formation curriculum, Enduring Faith, helps children build a personal relationship with God through Bible stories, prayer, and age-appropriate theological discussions.
