What grades do you currently offer?
Kindergarten opens in Fall 2026. We add one grade each year after that: 1st grade in 2027, 2nd grade in 2028, and so on through 5th grade in 2031. For the full timeline, visit our Grades 1-5 page.
What are the school hours?
The core elementary day runs from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, five days a week. Before care is available starting at 7:00 AM and after care extends to 5:00 PM.
What curriculum do you use?
We use HMH and IXL for language arts and reading, Amplify Math for mathematics, Nancy Larson for science, and Enduring Faith for spiritual formation. How is technology used in the classroom?
Technology is used purposefully in short sessions for skill reinforcement, not as a substitute for teacher-led instruction. Tools like IXL supplement core academics but are not the centerpiece of any lesson. The emphasis is always on hands-on learning, rich conversation, and direct interaction with the teacher.
Does the school provide snacks or lunches?
Parents provide a daily snack and lunch. The classroom teacher will make parents aware of any classroom allergies. Please notify the school office of any food allergies before the first day of school.
Are uniforms required?
Yes. Elementary students wear khaki pants, shorts, or skirts with a St. Peter Christian School shirt. Details on where to purchase uniform items will be provided during the enrollment process.
How do you handle students with special learning needs?
St. Peter is committed to serving a diverse range of learners. We partner with outside specialists to provide additional support for students with learning differences, such as dyslexia or autism. These students are fully included in the classroom and may also receive targeted support as needed. We encourage families to discuss their child’s individual needs with our Head of School during the enrollment process.
What does faith formation look like in elementary school?
Faith is part of every school day, not a separate subject. Students participate in daily religion lessons using the Enduring Faith curriculum, attend regular chapel worship, and practice kindness, service, and prayer as part of the classroom routine. Is St. Peter Christian School accredited?
Yes. St. Peter holds dual accreditation through the National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA) at the national level and the Lutheran School Accreditation Commission (LSAC) at the Texas state level. Both are recognized by the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC), and our accreditation qualifies St. Peter to accept Texas Education Freedom Accounts. Does my family need to be Lutheran or a member of St. Peter Church?
No. St. Peter Christian School welcomes families of all backgrounds. We are a ministry of St. Peter Church (Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod), but church membership is not required for enrollment. All students participate in daily religion lessons and chapel.
What happens if school closes for weather?
St. Peter Christian School follows Northwest ISD for weather-related closings. If NISD is closed, we are closed. If NISD has a delayed start, St. Peter Christian School is closed for the entire day. Once school is in session, it will not be dismissed early due to weather, but parents are welcome to pick up their child early if they wish.
Can my child transfer from your preschool into kindergarten?
Absolutely. Many of our preschool families continue into kindergarten. Children who are already part of our community benefit from familiar teachers, routines, and friendships, making the transition smooth and natural.
What if I want my child to stay through 5th grade but you only have kindergarten right now?
That’s exactly the plan. Each kindergartener who starts in Fall 2026 will have a new grade waiting for them every year through 5th grade in 2031. Your child’s class moves forward together, and you never have to transfer schools. Visit our Grades 1-5 page for the complete growth timeline.
